Endora (surname unpronounceable to us mere mortals), Samantha’s mother, and part of the joy of Bewitched (1964 – 72); a recent commission. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, your life is incomplete and you need to do some research.

Elizabeth Montgomery played Samantha Stephens in the show. I really think it’s one of the most charming (really, no pun intended) shows I grew up with.

More of Sam/Elizabeth, including a short-lived attempt at built-in borders.
Or perhaps Get Smart was more to your taste; 99 (Barbara Feldon) and 86 (Don Adams) here.
Or there was this lot… (did you know that Colonel Klink’s real father was Otto Klemperer, famous conductor and composer, described as “the last of the few really great conductors of his generation”?)

    Endora never seemed able to pronounce ‘Darrin Stephens’, Samantha’s mortal husband, referring to him by various nicknames like “Derwood,” “What’s-his-name,” or “Dum-Dum”.

    “Missed it by that much”.

    “You dunderhead! You big mouth, you big mouth dunderhead!”
